Wat Banrai, Luang Phor Koon was born on October 4th of BE2466 (1923).  He started his monkhood life on his 21 at Wat Duthep in Songkla.  After his study in Wat Duthep, Luang Phor Koon spent about 10 years time in forest for tudong (meditation) then he returned to Wat Banrai in Nakon Ratchasima.  At that time, Wat Banrai is not beautiful as now, because of insufficient fund of the temple, the abbott at that time unable to renovate the temple.  When Luang Phor Koon arrived Wat Banrai, he got about THB2 Million donation from disciples then he started the renovation of Wat Banrai.  In order to appreciate disciples’ donation, Luang Phor Koon made some amulets for returned to those disciples.  Most of the disciples received strong protection by the amulets from Luang Phor Koon and some of them also won the lottery, therefore, more and more people came to ask for amulets from Luang Phor Koon.

Besides amulet, Luang Phor Koon wrote his katha onto real gold plate and rolled to small tatruk.  He used a hammer to hit the small tatkrut into disciples’ body which can give then life-long protection.  A lot of people said this kind of ceremony was developed by Luang Phor Koon.  In fact, Luang Phor Koon learnt this kind of ceremony from Cambodia.  In Cambodia, there are a lot of monks did this ceremony for female disciples by hitting the gold tatkrut into their faces which could strengthen their attraction to male.  Everyday, a lot of disciples line up in Wat Banrai for tatkruting.  After a period of time, Luang Phor Koon stopped this ceremony and only received disciples in temple twice a day.  When he receive disciples, he will used a cloth stick to hit disciples’ head.  At the same time, disciples will hold two notes, one for donation to Luang Phor Koon and one for keeping in their wallet.

About 10 years ago, Luang Phor Koon’s health is getting worse, starting from his eyes, he is not comfortable by flashlight therefore, disciples and reporters can only take picture for Luang Phor Koon without flashlight.  Around 8 years ago, one time, Luang Phor Koon was sent to hospital and he locked up all of his amulets and religious articles.  From that time, all those Luang Phor Koon handmade amulets and religious articles were not allow to be rented.  For those after that period are his assistant bulk order made and asked Luang Phor Koon for chanting.
